The Erasmus Kamerkoor (Erasmus Chamber Choir) was founded in 1989, initially as a students' chamber choir. Over time it evolved into a versatile group of 21 musicians (male and female).

Since 2003 the choir has been conducted by Sanne Nieuwenhuijsen. We continually work on perfecting the overall choir sound, as well as on the musical development of the choir as a whole and the individual members.

The repertoire of the Erasmus Kamerkoor primarily contains a cappella works from 1600 until today, with special attention paid to contemporary Dutch composers. People like Jetse Bremer, Jacques Reuland, Boudewijn Tarenskeen, Daan Manneke and Dhroeh Nankoe have composed pieces especially for the Erasmus Kamerkoor. From time to time projects are done with instrumental and vocal soloists.

Concerts are given in Rotterdam and elsewhere in the Netherlands.

Vacancies: we have vacancies in all voice groups, except for alto's. Tenors, basses and (high) soprano's are most welcome to apply, provided they are ambitious and have choir experience. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings close to Rotterdam Central Station.

If you're interested in joining, please come and listen during one of our rehearsals!
